Today, the Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) hosted a formal handing-over ceremony in the WEF Boardroom at Britam Tower. The ceremony marked the official transition of leadership between the Acting CEO, Ms. Magdaline Kipkenei, and the newly appointed CEO, CHRP Rachel Musyoki. This key event was presided over by Dr. Jane Langát, Chairperson of the WEF Advisory Board, with Board Members Dr. Eliud Mutwiri and Mr. Karisa Yaa in attendance, as well as members of the management team.

In her remarks, Dr. Langát congratulated Ms. Musyoki on her new role. The Chairperson expressed the Board’s full support as Ms. Musyoki embarks on her journey to lead WEF. Dr. Langát also extended her heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Kipkenei, commending her for stepping into the role with dedication, which ensured continued service delivery and achievement of significant milestones for the Fund. She wished her well in her future endeavors.

The incoming CEO, Ms. Musyoki, conveyed her appreciation to the Board for entrusting her with the responsibility, noting that the expectations of Kenyan women were high. She highlighted that uplifting the vulnerable and the poor brings positive change and pledged to work closely with the team to further WEF’s mission of empowering women economically. Ms. Musyoki also expressed gratitude for the resumption of the manual lending process.

In her farewell, the outgoing Ag. CEO, Ms. Kipkenei, thanked the Board, management, and staff for their invaluable support, which enabled her to make meaningful contributions in her tenure. She emphasized that the professionalism and collaboration of her team were key to her achievements during her time as Acting CEO.

WEF is looking forward to continued progress under the leadership of Ms. Musyoki as the Fund strives to uplift women’s livelihoods across Kenya.
