The group was formed in the year 2002 with a total membership of 25 who are fish mongers within Migori fish market. They located in Nyanza Region Suna constituency.
The group was doing merry go round and table banking as their main project before borrowing from WEF. On 10th March 2015, they were given their first loan of KSH 100,000 which they added on their table banking project. During this period the group had a total amount of KSH 584,000 inclusive of their savings of Kshs. 100,000.
They received their second loan cycle on 25th April 2016 which was kshs.200, 000. This helped them boost their table banking thus boosting their savings to Kshs.1, 079,200
The group took KSH 1,000,000 and deposited to co-operative bank and bought a brand new minibus for their commercial project purposes. The bus is worth KSH 4,980,000. The group had a deficit of KSH 3,980,000 which the bank allowed them to repay in monthly installment of KSH 196,000.
ACHIEVEMENT:
• They are able to access good health care
• Quality education for their children
• Good water supply and permanent houses.
• They are also self-employed and manage their own businesses.
IMPACT:
WEF finances have boosted their merry go round banking and have managed to buy a minibus that is giving in good profis.
