Women Enterprise Fund is a Semi-Autonomous Government Agency under the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action. It is a Kenya Vision 2030 flagship project that promotes the 1st and the 5th Sustainable Development Goals on Poverty Eradication and Gender Equality & Women Empowerment. The Fund was established on 3rd August, 2007 via Legal Notice No.147 (THE GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (WOMEN ENTERPRISE FUND) REGULATIONS, 2007).
The Fund’s Vision is ‘A sustainable Fund empowering Kenyan women for social and economic development’, The Mission is ‘To facilitate women socioeconomic empowerment by providing access to credit, capacity building, market linkages, market infrastructure, and domestic and international trade and through utilization of technological innovations.”
