Tuinuke Loan (Constituency Women Enterprise Scheme - CWES)

Tuinuke Loan is a group loan that targets women groups who want to start or expand their business enterprises. The loan ranges from Kshs.50,000 to Kshs.750,000.

Requirements to access Group Loans

  • Must be a registered Self-Help Group comprised of 10 - 30 members.

  • All group members must be women aged 18+ years

  • Must be registered with the Department of Social Services for at least 3 months.

  • Must have an account in a Bank account. Statements from SACCO FOSA/Post Bank/Deposit Taking Micro-finance (DTM) statements will not be acceptable.

  • Groups must be trained on Financial Literacy Skills by the WEF officers as a prerequisite for the loan application.

  • Must provide list of group members with IDs and Telephone numbers (members must have signed against their names)

  • Must provide signed minutes of the group meeting resolving to borrow from WEF

  • A member must belong to only one group at a time

NB: The Group Loan is interest Free, with only 6% administrative fee with no grace period

Group loans are given in different categories and graduation principle applies as follows:

  • Zero interest.
  • Co-guaranteeship.
  • Training fee Kshs. 100 per member.
  • Loan Tracker fee Ksh. 200 per group.
  • Administration fee of 6% to be deducted upfront.
  • No grace period.
  • Sharia compliant.
  • TAT is 15 days.
  • Penalty 1% per month of the amount in default
